PCSO Online Lottery Has Officially Commenced Its Trial Operation
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) officially launches its e-Lotto program, allowing bettors to participate in lotto games through online betting. The scheme is based on a web application betting platform called “E-Lotto”. The trial operation period is one year. E-Lotto is a digital version of the traditional lottery game designed to provide Filipinos with a safe, modern and easy-to-use gaming experience.
The impact on PCSO is expected to be huge. The agency expects the new digital platform to double the punter base from current levels. Currently, approximately one million Filipinos place Lotto bets on any game on any day, and they wait in line for minutes at lotto sales points and kiosks across the country.
Meanwhile, PCSO will offer lucky bettors a total prize of over P1 billion for the Grand Lotto 6/55 and Ultra Lotto 6/58 games after increasing the minimum guaranteed amount of jackpot prizes to P500 million.
PCSO General Manager Mel Robles told reporters at a press conference in Pasig City: “E-Lotto is an important milestone for PCSO as we embrace the digital age and meet the ever-changing needs of players. “During the year-long trial period, players can place bets online and receive winnings electronically. “With eLottery, players can now place their bets conveniently, choose their lucky numbers, and win exciting cash prizes from the comfort of their own home,” said Robles. He said that E-Lotto’s main goal is to provide players with convenience, security and transparency. At the same time, the accessibility of online platforms will attract more domestic and international players, thereby increasing revenue for charitable activities and ultimately improving the lives of millions of people across the country.
One of the main advantages of E-Lotto is its ability to curb the proliferation of illegal online digital games and ensure that revenue is funneled into government coffers, contributing to the country’s progress. Players can access E-Lotto through the PCSO website (www.PCSO.gov.ph) by scanning the QR code provided and completing the registration process.
Next year, the E-Lotto app will be available for download on Google Play and iOS platforms. The current payment method is Gcash, and negotiations are currently underway to introduce other third-party payment gateways such as banks and e-wallets.
The launch of online lottery in the Philippines marks the entry of a new digital era for the Philippine lottery industry. This innovative online platform is expected to change the face of the Philippine lottery market, providing players with a simpler, safer and more convenient lottery gaming experience, while also generating more revenue for the government to support various social and charitable projects.
